Enthralled with business at a young age, Mark immersed himself in the business world while studying accounting at Macquarie University. Not long after graduating he was appointed as the financial controller of GSMB, where he rebuilt the firm’s operations and financial standings from being $3.5M in debt to operating with a $750k profit in the first year.
Head-hunted by Ernst & Young, Mark continued to elevate his experience and ability by leveraging technology, process improvement, and team development to turn around businesses in hospitality, agriculture and property management. As a result, Mark garnered a reputation of being a builder and fixer of organisational strategy and operatons.
After earning his MBA, Mark secured a spot as Managing Director for the Australian Horticulture Corporation where he turned around the organisation by changing the business model to “fee for service” and generated operational efficiency and scalability by merging two companies to form Horticulture Australia Limited.
Noticing his success, Mark was head-hunted by Windsor Farm Foods and after addressing the companies inefficiencies and financial challenges he transitioned into the role of Chief Executive Officer-turning the company into an industry leader and igniting a client-focused culture.
As principal advisor, he revels in helping clients in the horticulture, hospitality and manufacturing industries develop the necessary strategies, systems and culture to thrive and succeed in their respective markets.
Capitalising on his advanced skills in organisational development, process management, and revitalising established cultures, Mark also lends his experience on numerous boards and is a key advisor on special government projects.
As part of his commitment to giving back to the business community, Mark mentors a handful of companies, whilst running his fruit orchard in Byron Bay.
